In 2006 the Group for its manufacturing centres has achieved BS EN ISO 14001.
As part of our long-term vision, the Hambleside Danelaw Group has become members of dcarbon8. Our association with this carbon solutions group is designed to achieve a change in attitude in the decision making process, which will encourage clients and end users to choose materials which will help to achieve a sustainable, economical and responsible method of reducing carbon emissions. The final objective being to encourage the construction of Planet Positive buildings designed and built to minimise impact on the environment.
The Group has made submissions to the Stern Committee, which in November 2006 published its report on the effects of global warming and the economic cost. With carbon emissions now costing $85 per tonne there is a clear economic indicator to measure business activities.
Every organisation can help offset this cost and Hambleside can provide guidance on a products environmental performance and cost whether it is for the building industry or in the selection process for promotional gifts items.
